I have been a patron of Bayside Pizza since they first opened in Mahone Bay. I appreciate their extended hours, as it is rare to find dining options that stay open late in this small town. The staff is always friendly and efficient, particularly when the owner, Abdul, is on duty. View all feedback.
What Isabella Herman doesn't like about Bayside Cafe & Dairy Bar:
After deciding to grab a late bite to eat in downtown Mahone Bay, we realized that almost every restaurant was closing by 9pm. Bayside is now a Pizza, Donair & Beer cafe. While we had hoped for a more traditional meal, we were happy to find some hot food available. I had expected to have to remove any wheat products to accommodate my gluten-free diet, but was pleased when they offered a gluten-free crust. Service was quick, the pizza was fresh, but my partner's thin crust could have been thinner. If you're in the mood for fast food, this is the only option in Mahone Bay. I do wish they would dim the bright lighting so I don't have to wear sunglasses inside.
Bayside pizzas in Mahone Bay are top-notch. They are the sole pizza place in town, but don't let that fool you - they do not cut corners when it comes to quality or portion size. You'll definitely be satisfied with both the product and the value for your money.

My husband and I were walking the streets of Mahone Bay on our recent vacation. Starving and getting tired we wanted something fast. We stopped off at the Bayside and ordered some french fries and onion rings to split until we got back to our hotel to have our meal there. The fries were fresh cut and seemed to take a little while to prepare. I certainly could have asked for more as they had a large menu with lots of selection. The service was great. The host/ cook had run out of onion rings so he provided us with a second basket of fries and refunded the balance to us. We enjoyed our snack and then browsed the shop next door after we ate. We weren't too hungry when we left either.
My wife and I stumbled on this place on our anniversary. I got the chicken sub. Since then I want go to no other place. It's a true gem hidden among the tourist shops.
