Not that it wasn't good, but I really didn't understand the hype from other reviews. The food was acceptable and service was fine but it's noisy and rushed. Their idea of a side of fruits seemed to be 4 blueberries, half a strawberry, 1 raspberry and two clementine wedges. They charged 5$ extra for two tiny little slices of bacon...Save your money. There's plenty of better places around.
Meh... I don't get the hype. Food was very overpriced for quality and quantity. Service was ok, one waitress was annoyingly condescending and the other one was nice. Would not recommend, and will not go back.
On a drive into Magog we spotted LA SHOP in an older industrial area just east of the main shopping district (but on the same main street Rte. 108). In adventure mode, we quickly stopped and took a quick peek inside and were pleasantly surprised but what greeted us. A re-furbished red brick industrial work space transformed into a large, well light coffee shop and causal eatery. The main focus is on unique types of grilled cheese sandwiches (see chalkboard photos of offerings) as well as some inspired breakfast ideas. We order LA POMME (a grilled brie cheese sandwich on brioche egg brads, nuts and caramelized apples....very good), and LE VEGE (a mozza, goat cheese mushroom, zucchini, etc veggie sandwich...also excellent). There are also, as you'd expect, a ton of coffee options. The only downside was that service was a bit slow (albeit very friendly). In their defense the restaurant was quite busy and there were only two wait staff servicing the tables and making the coffees. Enjoy!
