The new outdoor concert venue is awesome! Even more so when the wind is not blowing out of the north. If you haven't been here in years, you're in for a nice surprise.Tip: do NOT park on the side of the on or off ramp you will get ticketed and/or towed! View all feedback.
What Robyn Jimenez doesn't like about The Great Saltair:
We went here to see the Ghost Adventures location. You can see it from the main road, but it is fenced-off, so you can't park very close. We did see some people walk around the fences and get closer to the building and the lake. Most folks were just taking pictures and leaving, which is what we did, too! Good views of the lake right off I-80. View all feedback.
Parking needs improvement. But the venue outside is intimate. Great space. After a while you don't smell the brine shrimp anymore.
It was quite a ways to the water, but worth it. I didn't need special shoes as the ground was hard. There were only a few steps that were sand like. The point where I reached the water was crazy!! The sand fleas covered literally every square millimeter. I've never seen anything like it!!There were a lot of dead birds, more than expected. I stopped counting at ten. It smelled like an ocean beach minus the death in the air. ?
SO COOL! kind of eerie on a gloomy day, but just interesting area, would LOVE to go a concert there someday. walked around the sandy/salty area nearby and it's just a gorgeous 360° view, great spot to stretch and enjoy the views!!
Went for a concert. The concert was amazing. So, this review has nothing to do with the performance. However, the venue was extremely hot and is not air conditioned. They have swamp coolers and fans which made it really muggy. I'm surprised there were not more people passing out from heat exhaustion. One huge positive was the security people on the ground level were fabulous and were handing out ice water to anyone who needed it. I'm just not a huge fan of standing only venues anyway. The upstairs security was extremely rude. At one point I was told I could not stand where I was standing. I complied and moved but the security guard stood there yelling at me for about 2 minutes. About 5 minutes later another person went and stood there and no one said anything to them. So, I lost my better view of the clinic.Saltair, with its history in Utah has so much potential. It would be cool to see the owners invest in the space and make it a bit nicer for concerts. Add some A/C, keep the fans, add a seated area, and
So you have to go at the right times, but this is a wonderful place to take a nice stroll and cool your feet in the water. Need a slight breeze and depending on the temp an overcast evening or morning is perfect.
