The outdoor seating on the main plaza in Mafra gives you full view of the palace/convent and people watching. The coffee was fine,...nothing special but did the task of caffeinating us before the run at a decent price.

Mafra is a beautiful small town warned by its own palast. the surrounding city has, what seems very few characteristics, but the main market place is this beaut... read more Mafra is a beautiful small town warned by its own palast. the surrounding city has, what seems very few characteristics, but the main market place is this beautiful to palace. beyond the palais is the main center of mafra and. both inside out they will find pastelaria fradinho. for everyone with a sweet tooth, maybe in trouble, as their confectionery counters make their choice extremely difficult. the prices are very reasonable and the natives think that too. mafra is worth a visit and adds pastelaria fradinho to their journey.

If you are in a group, ask one of each of their sweets. Their Pastéis de Nata are very good and...I can securely say that are much better than the ones found in Lisbon. Their Travesseiro de Sintra is very good and you must finish eating the FRADINHO. You will only find this there and is an explosion of flavours in your mouth.
