Santceloni was the stone of our three weeks holiday through Spain and Portugal and it ended our slumber weeks on a high note! the restaurant offered us an excellent service and let us feel at the moment when we arrived, welcome and special. a unique feature of this restaurant was that they can see the food made and the chefs can work behind a large glass viewing area. while a bit of voyeuristic, it really helped them appreciate the preparation, effort and teamwork that demonstrates the personal and the intrinsicity that goes into each court. our server has supplied us instantly with water, a sommelier has wein recommendations delivered, and while they have a la carte option with a travel of approx. 50e per participant, we went directly to the tasting menu. the food was delicious and each dish was made creatiw and packed with taste. we enjoyed the white gazpacho, the duck lasagne and the painted white flu. each of the other dishes was quite tasty in their own, but these were above all out. another amazing aspekt des restaurants was the cheese car, as we were handed over two cheese tables with a large selection of Spanish and French cheeses. the personal gave recommendations and then hacked large pieces of cheese for us to try (without saying we couldn't finish but not from lack of attempt).) we also appreciate the personal service and the special note that the personal gave us. when they knew that this was a special occasion, they offered my wife a bouquet of flowers with the scarf. during our trip we had visited 9 Michelin-known restaurants and santceloni with the best high rankings. what really came out to us was the service and the opportunity to appreciate the chefs in their craft better.
That is a two star michelin restaurant. every dripping was delicious. Why four stars? the sommelier was terrible. He seemed to have been talking to us. we just wanted to have a talk about the Spanish wine pairing against the other wine pairing. he was not interested in our weeping preferences and simply wanted to leave our table as soon as possible. that's his job. our waiter jorge couldn't have been nicer. the weinassistent claire was super sweet. Of course, eating was wonderful, but if they have two stars, the bar is very high. they cannot respect their customers and expect a good feedback. the cheese pious was also in great haste and has not taken into account our preferences. we have clearly explained our preference for softer goat and sheep cheese and he insisted on the Manchego. the cheeseboard was huge and impressive, but if they don't give their guests their preference, what is the point? each employee of the personal has an impact on our experience. No one has tried to rejoice. on his first interest the sommolier never asked how we enjoy the wein. he was standing with him all night.
I am certainly not one to leave reviews, but I feel as though it would be a disservice not to leave one for Santceloni. The long tasting menu, along with the Spanish wine pairing, is truly impeccable. I didn't think it would be possible to be blown away by every course, but I was handedly proven wrong. An amazing spot to say the least.
