3 course lunch roughly €16? The staff are friendly and even though I spoke no Spanish they made every effort to explain the daily menu to me. The most surprising item was the pear tart, it is by far the best I've ever had. The pear was perfectly cooked, soft yet with bite. The pastry was buttery and flakey with great taste.
Larger than it looks with an attentive staff. Basque modern cuisine with a mix of traditional dishes (the bacalao pil pil was excellent) and many seasonal plates. Everything was delicious.
A small restaurant in a quiet street. We were received with enthusiasm. The starters (sardine; patates) were very good, the main course (piglet) was wonderful. The wines were good. The prices are reasonable.
Actually ended up here for lunch after first choice being closed. We liked the look of their blackboard menu as we passed and in we went.We eventually ate here three times for lunch and every meal was very enjoyable indeed. The menu changes daily and we always found it difficult choosing because nearly everything appealed. All our choices (sea bass, ragout, hake etc.,etc. were very well cooked and very tasty. Desserts tend to be simple-yoghurt and honey, fruit salad for example but a very good finish after the first two courses. The menu del dia is currently 13.5 euros and I think very good value for the high quality of cooking involved. We also really enjoyed the suggested Verdejo at 12.5 euros a bottle which was a bonus. Service was exceptionally friendly and any of the more unusual menu items were helpfully explained. The restaurant was very busy with locals and we tended to arrive just after 13-30 to guarantee getting `our` table. Summing up, we had a perfect lunch on every visit in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
