If you are looking for traditional food, this is the place. The place is run by the owners, and they will make you feel at home. The portions are nice and the flavor are perfect. The mussels were the best, fresh and simple. The fish, gambas/shrimp were delicious. The desert, home made flan with other sweets were the perfect final touch. Loved it. The service was amazing!
During our 4 day stay in Madrid, we decided to look for a more local, less touristy bar. We wandered in a few blocks and came across Bar Muai. What a pleasant surprise! It was filled with locals and we were welcomed with open arms! Great tapas, calamari, steak sandwiches, wine, vermouth etc. Although they spoke very little english and we spoke just a bit of spanish, we were still able to communicate with one another. The young waitress, Lisa, was so kind and considerate and managed to give us some delicious tapas to add to our meals. We would highly recommend this bar if you are looking for a more local flair with good food.
Nice for coffee and snack perhaps but the menu of the day 11 Euro was awful. Worse than any of the others tried in Madrid and Spain. Tiny potions, poor quality. Really al disappointment
