I wanted to order a cheese pizza, and when I arrived, they had a selection of freshly baked pizzas on display. However, the cheese pizza was the only one sitting out, and it wasn't even warm when I received it. It was extremely dry and didn't taste great overall. Honestly, who would want to eat a slice of pizza that looks like that? I truly wonder if the manager or staff would choose to buy and eat it themselves under the same circumstances.
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Urban Slice, and we’ve been there many times since moving to Madison a few years ago. Being born and raised in New York, we consider ourselves somewhat experts on authentic New York-style pizza, and Urban Slice did not disappoint! Not only was it the best pizza we've had outside of New York, but it ranks among the best we've ever tasted anywhere. My wife, who isn’t usually a big pizza fan, absolutely loved it. The crust was thin and crispy with the perfect balance of flavorful sauce and just the right amount of mozzarella cheese. Additionally, the meatball topping we chose was fantastic—not just ground beef, but a true Italian meatball! We will definitely be making the trip to Madison again soon, and Urban Slice will be our go-to pizza spot. If they value the opinion of two New Yorkers on what makes great pizza, they can’t miss out on this place!
When I went in to order a cheese pizza, I noticed several freshly baked pizzas on display, but unfortunately, the cheese pizza was the only one that seemed stale. It wasn't even warm when I received it, and it was super dry and not very appealing at all. Honestly, who would want to eat a slice of pizza that looks like that? I have to wonder if the manager or staff would choose to eat it under the same circumstances...
Good place to get pizza in a pinch but definitely not a place worth stopping every day. The pizza though good, is quite greasy. They offer salads which is a nice alternative to the pizza. Prices are a okay.
I work on campus and eat here often. When it's good, it's good. When it's bad....oh boy. A few times I've walked in and all the pizzas have been burned to a black crisp, yet they're sitting there waiting to be sold as if it's all good. Their cheese bread also seems to change completely on a monthly basis; I assume because they just buy whatever is the cheapest at the time? The staff are always good and the price is right. They just desperately need some quality control!
