Definitely a cornerstone in the municipality. The only downfall isn't music outside. Someone who should stay in the suburbs decided to complain about the noise while living in a city on a very busy block. One wonders if there are only some developers who are trying to put the space out of the store to build more buildings that do not last even 70 years. . Quality of quantity Madison, please .. I would never return to this bar. Blatant disrespect and omission to provide service while at the bar for 10 minutes. There was only one bartender working, yet proceeds to have conversation with patron. Once finally carrying on and finishing their chat, bartender walks away from behind the bar right past me and leaves the entire bar unoccupied! The atmosphere is a quintessential Wisconsin dive—quite enjoyable, really. I was seated right in the middle of the bar and had to shout to get the bartender's attention, even though it wasn't particularly crowded. The bartenders kept walking by without acknowledging our empty glasses. Perhaps they were having an off night, but that shouldn't have affected our experience.
We received fantastic service from our bartender. The beer selection is impressive, and they have excellent whiskey and bourbon options. I also really enjoy the pinball machines available here!
Great spot with a laid-back vibe. The food is decent, the beer is served cold, and the service is friendly. It's conveniently located, making it a nice place to unwind and enjoy a drink to wrap up the evening.
Very quaint, friendly, historic bar. A fun stop if you are in downtown Madison.
