We always enjoy dining at this restaurant. This time, we made a reservation through Open Table, but the menu on the website wasn’t up to date, which was disappointing since I had selected a few dishes that weren't available. One of our favorite things about this restaurant is the Dessert Sampler—it’s a great deal at around $15 for five desserts to share. Unfortunately, the desserts this time were a bit of a letdown. The chocolate avocado cake seemed like an Iron Chef challenge that went wrong. On the positive side, the spicy tuna roll was, as always, delicious. The Asian slaw was also fantastic and a great value, offering a generous portion that serves as a lovely palate cleanser. While this visit wasn't our favorite, we’ll definitely return in the future.
Was great but take a while for server to get our order. The plus thing is he did come to great us right away as soon as we sit down but He didn't came back for at least 15-20 minutes after, but not a big deal since we order food and drink right away just don't want him to ran way from us again.
The seaweed salad was excellent and the sushi above average. The mixed drinks were OK, but the service was quite good, although this is based on a not particularly busy time.
We have gone here many times over the years and always enjoy Muramoto. The food is unusual and excellent and you can select a number of small dishes to try the great choices. And oveerall the expense is less than you'd expect from such a fine restaurant. The Asian Slaw is one of our favorites and this time we didn't think it was quite as good as usual. But overall this is a great restaurant.

I absolutely loved this place! The food was fantastic, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be returning!
Poke of the day was very good and the house made pickles were fantastic. The sashimi was some of the best I have had. The rolls I tried were excellent. Very nice restaurant within walking distance of the capital. Highly recommended.
I finally visited Muramoto Downtown, and it exceeded my expectations. It was even better than Hilldale, our usual sushi spot!
I have been eating sushi since I was 6 months old. I have tried a lot of places in IL and WI. This place is in my top 3. The sushi was fresh, high quality, and was labeled correctly (it is common for seafood restaurants to label fish one thing on the menu but serve something else). There were options here I have not seen anywhere else, such as bonito, albacore, and flounder. The moscato wine I had was really good and the ginger flan with caramel sauce for dessert was awesome.

We visited on Sunday for the $30 all-you-can-eat option and discovered a wide variety of choices. We enjoyed everything we ordered and left feeling completely satisfied.
Our reservation was ready and we were promptly seated in a location I had requested in advance. Cocktails were excellent, service was fast, and Kate was a wonderful server and very attentive.
The restaurant was extremely warm. The sushi was disappointly the same? You basically had to use your hands to scoop it up cause chop sticks was impossible to pick up the flaky rice that did not keep the rolls or Nigiri in tact. So sad about this place. Luckily the merchant is right around the corner and will have to try another sushi place. Won't be back.
Good combination of sushi and various rolls, as well as entrees that they serve tapas style. The scallop entree in particular was one of the best dishes I've had at a restaurant in quite some time. Will definitely make it a point to come back if we're ever in the Madison area.
Large lunch portions; creative sushi as well as cooked menu; happily accommodated my gluten issues. Veggie roll with beets is remarkable. Cheesecake dessert indescribable and delicious. In reservation I mentioned need for wheelchair access but arrived to find locked doors and NO signage. It's 26 years too late to require me to telephone for access outside a restaurant's door. When I complained, he pointed out the 1:4 slope freight ramp which leads to a narrow porch outside the restaurant, a connection blocked by a table and huge flower pot.
