I asked not to be seated close to the band so we could talk and we were seated the other side of the room from them, instead of the back or other side of the fireplace. It was too busy to request a different seat. it was hard to hear each other. We DID have a good time and it is a lovely vineyard and we will be back!! View all feedback.
What Felix Olmo doesn't like about Early Mountain:
Wine is very good. Beautiful property too, but that's not the straw breaking our backs. What is a bottle of Cab Franc without the service and food we ordered? Minute after minute, with empty stomachs abound, we saw our table and other tables not receive their food before others that had arrived later. The kicker? The staff didn't think about selling another bottle! Where's the upsell to take advantage of our clear di... View all feedback.
Overall we had a really good experience here. I'm not a wine drinker, but the others in my party really enjoyed the wine. We had made a reservation and were seated inside, which was beautiful, clean, and spacious. The service was pretty good, and the food we ordered was delicious. The only real complaint we had was the height of bathroom stalls. The bathrooms were perfectly fine except that the dividers for the stalls were pretty short! Any average size man can easily look over the divider and they wouldn't even have to get on their tippy toes to do it. Management, please, fix this ASAP!
Absolutely beautiful Vineyard located in the hills outside of Charlottesville. Perfect day trip from VA Beach. Out of all the vineyards in the area we picked this one because they have a full kitchen and turn out some very delicious food. The property is absolutely gorgeous, it 's feels like you jumped into a painting. We went in on a Friday and they were moderately busy so I recommend reservations. They also have an absolutely beautiful out back area with a separate Meadows menu. They have so many different wines it was hard to choose a flight. All of the ones we tried were delicious, every single one. The charcuterie and fried polenta also went perfectly with all of our wine. There are also several B&Bs ' in the area if you want to make a long weekend out of your trip.

Sharing from a wedding photographer 's point of view; this place is incredible! They offer a great variety of locations having their own getting ready area off site, beautiful landscapes surrounding the space, and plenty of outdoor area for cocktail hour and reception. The team is top notch and is incredibility collaborative for the vendors on the day of. We 're looking forward to our next one there as they always help make the day so much more seamless for everyone involved.
Picking up your bags from Dulles airport and heading west/south? Want to escape the DC rush? This should be your first stop in your journey to cleanse your mind and soul. The food will transcend you from the rat race worries and the staff will treat you like the kings and queens you are. You deserve to treat yourself, and this is the best kickoff you’ll find.Atmosphere: The tasting room is gorgeous and very close to 29. Definitely stop in every time you travel past here, even if it is for a glass of bubbly and an appetizer. There are other wineries with better vistas, but that is only because competition for this is stiff in the VA Piedmont regionFood: Chef Tim Moore seems happy and inspired here. The menu gets refreshed often to reflect the seasons and what is available. Ingredients are high quality. I’d stop here just for the food.Service: Early Mountain knows hospitality. Each shift appears adequately staffed from front of house, servers, bar staff, and kitchen staff. This is a big operation and it doesn’t appear the owners expect their staff to move at super human speed or perform circus level juggling.Wine: The wine is approachable. It is a good representation of what VA wine can be. I do feel sometimes the wines may come off as ‘safe’, but it allows consistency of quality and precision to be detected in each wine.Wine Club: I recently retired my wine club membership. They use to be hosted in the great room with two roaring fires in the middle of winter, sample plate that had inspired pairings with the club wines we got to taste… the most recent pickup had a bag of small pastries from a local shop, cool, but not the epic level event I was hoping each pickup would be.Bathrooms: nothing to write home about, some vineyards have epic bathroom game in this region, not going to downgrade them a star for this, but always fun to comment on :
