Quaint hole in the wall operation with really good dumplings. Everything was really tasty. My only complaint was that the duck leg in my soup had a pulverized bone, which made getting the meat a bit tricky. Otherwise, delicious.Food: 4/5 View all feedback.
What Lenny S doesn't like about Chen's Dumpling House:
Chen's dumplings should be renamed to Chen's Palace of bland. Average tasting dumplings with below average noodles. If the broth had some seasoning in it it would be called water. I also ordered sticky chicken rice, which was 100% correct. However, it seemed they left out seasoning in the recipe. This place is great if you're allergic to good food. View all feedback.
No atmosphere, but really good dumplings. Pork and chive were awesome, chicken and mushroom also good and surprisingly moist. Does take a little while to prepare.
Stopped in for a late bite with friends and really enjoyed this seemingly hole-in-the-wall. They have a rather decent sized menu to order from. You get a number, and they call it out when your food is ready to pick up. I sampled several different things, and I was happy with everything I ate. Good food.Food: 5/5
I have had dumplings all overe and this place has the most authentic amazing dumplings I have ever had. There's not enough stars to state the excellence of this place on the rating scale.Kid-friendliness: Very friendly and the kids loved it.Parking: Plenty of parking was available
Chen's dumpling house is a small, family-owned Asian restaurant on State Street. Out of everything that Madison has to offer, Chen's is my number one spot to go to. There's a thing for everyone, and if there isn't on the menu, you can custom order your ramen to your liking. Their broth is exquisite, and so is their brisket.Go to Chen's. If you don't know what to do in Madison Wisconsin, go to Chen's dumpling House.
A lot of options to choose from. We tried the chicken and mushroom dumplings, pork and chive dumplings, BBQ pork buns, shumai, and the scallion pancakes. Everything tasted great. Each came in it's own to go container so it was easy to pack up the left overs.Food: 5/5
