Buraka, located in Wisconsin, offers a unique dining experience with its Ethiopian cuisine. The interior is cozy and cute, and the recent remodel has made the space open and warm. The food is described as incredibly delicious and flavorful, with a variety of options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. The service is friendly and prompt, with staff members like Alexis and Maron earning praise. While some experienced slow service, the tasty food made up for any delays. Dishes like the duck tenders, samosa, and dorowot come highly recommended. Overall, Buraka is a must-try spot for those looking to explore new flavors and enjoy a filling meal in a welcoming atmosphere.

I’m Ethiopian and the food here is just sad. Overpriced too. The people are nice but I ordered dorowat and what I got was an abomination. I only ordered it because I was feeling homesick and I was truly shocked. Carrots in my dorowat… no egg… no chicken drumstick… the sauce looked like tomato sauce for gods sake. I sent a picture to my mom (who immigrated to America from Ethiopia in 1992) and she told me to not eat it under any circumstance. It would have been a mediocre dish if they called it something else. But it is NOT dorowat. I feel affronted and I genuinely deserve an apology. This is not the food of my people. This is the food of my enemies.

The injera was a little thinner than what I was expecting. The lamb was more tender than the chicken to me.Overall good flavors.

We ate here Sunday, March 10th. There was only one server, and he was taking care of about 10 tables at once, plus the bar, plus bussing, etc. Please hire more servers! He was very nice and was working very hard. Please give him a raise! As for the food, it was VERY tasty, very delicious. (I just wish there were more vegan options, as there are almost none. Even the bread is not vegan we found out. One suggestion: When ordering, please ask the server to repeat the order, to make sure there is no miscommunication. Dear Buraka: Please hire more servers! You are a popular restaurant, and one server is NOT enough! You need AT LEAST four or five servers at a time.

Food was very good. Service is not quick, because one poor woman was serving, bartending, and hosting the whole restaurant. The family-style platter made it great for us two adults and four kids to share a meal. The Tibs Firfir with beef was spicy andrich. The Dorowot was not as spicy as expected, but very flavorful. Everything was very tasty. The Ethiopian coffee is made andserved in a French press, which was a tad disappointing, but the coffee was still excellent.
