Britannia Coffee Lounge - Maddington

The place is nice. Good atmosphere. My concern was there is a mask mandate on and MAMIL’s (Middle Aged Men In Lycra) that ride bikes seem to be above that when ordering. Apparently they don’t need to wear a mask like the rest of us and no one picks them up on it. Ordered the Farm House Breakfast with Gluten Free toast. The menu says $2.00 extra, the bill says nearly double that at $3.50. Not enough to complain about, however enough for me to warn others that can ask for the correct price as they order, and take a star off my rating. Admittedly the Gluten Free toast tasted like the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had. As you know though… that’s not the point. Would I go back? Absolutely. Only I’ll tell them “I’m only paying the price on the menu” next time.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with the option of sitting outdoors or at covered tables. All the eggs used are free range. I ordered the rosti with hollandaise sauce, which was decent, but I wish there had been some dressing on the salad. The homemade rosti was tasty, though. My friend ordered the big breakfast, which was definitely huge. I also liked the variety of tea options available.

The service was excellent, with quick order to table service and the option to order through the website. The location is fantastic and dog-friendly. The food and coffee were decent, but not outstanding. I will definitely return.

This brunch spot offers great value for the price, and the portions are quite generous.
