Southern Leyte Divers - Macrohon
Southern Leyte Divers
Description
Tucked in Padre Burgos, this rustic dive resort delivers superb diving, great food (vegetarian‑friendly), clean comfortable rooms and a new boat, plus stunning views and friendly locals. Experiences vary: some guides and staff excel while management, aging dive gear, inconsistent service, unpredictable water/plumbing and an untrained large dog can spoil stays. Ideal for value‑minded divers and families seeking quiet — bring patience and a local SIM.

Terrible experience!!! I was at serious risk due to the poor condition of the diving equipment. My regulator and octopus failed at 16 meters deep, forcing me to return to the boat after just 10 minutes. They didn't have any long wetsuits in size L, so they provided me with a short wetsuit in an area infested with jellyfish... and they charged me the full price.
I had a wonderful two-night stay at this restaurant, enjoying the delicious food and breakfast. One suggestion I have is to provide drinking water in the guest rooms to enhance the overall experience. Service: 3.
The Souther Leyte Divers could be a decent option if you choose a room that isn't a standard one. However, I found the standard room to be poorly situated, as it is located close to the compressor, which operates from the time you return from diving until around 5 p.m., and then starts up again the next morning. Additionally, this room is adjacent to the kitchens and bathrooms, making it too noisy to relax after diving. It's a shame because the rest of the facility is quite pleasant, and the diving team is excellent. Overall, the standard room's location is a significant drawback due to the noise from the compressor.
A should Diving resort! Excellent food, good service and a top tier world class diving! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
Bad experience in this hotel. First of all, the attention leaves something to be desired. We wanted to rent a motorcycle and they asked us twice as much as on the rest of the islands. The wifi didn't work (or they didn't want to give it to me), the diving was very expensive and the food (hamburgers) was small and tasteless. To cost 25 euros a night it has to have water to flush the toilet. In short, the only positive thing is the town of Padre Burgos, very quiet and the people are very friendly and an incredible area for diving.
