**Touchstone Café: A Mixed Bag of Experiences in Macleod**
Touchstone Café in Macleod presents a blend of delightful culinary offerings and areas needing improvement. While praised for its vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff, visitors have noted issues ranging from uncleanliness to operational oversights, particularly with bookings during public holidays. Highlights include standout dishes like the miso salmon soba bowl and the indulgent Golden Gaytime French Toast. However, inconsistent service—such as forgotten orders—and the need for better flavor seasoning remain. Overall, this café shows great potential, making it a local gem worth visiting amidst its growing pains in the bustling dining scene.

We weren't informed about how many tapas to order for four people, so we went with six, only to find out we could order more later. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to satisfy our hunger. When we asked to order more at 8:40, we were told that the kitchen was already closed! We felt a bit let down by that. That said, the food was excellent, the service was great, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. Overall, we had... View all feedback.

I recall seeing this café highlighted in a newspaper or an online food blog, so I was eager to give it a try. The space is small to medium-sized, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it bustling with customers on a rainy Saturday, even before noon. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the menu offered a wide variety of choices. The interior of the café was bright and tidy. I ordered the miso salmon, which was delightful, with a mix of vegetables that perfectly complemented the salmon.
Humble cafe in the suburbs of Macleod with a crew full of smiles!<br/ <br/ FOOD: I ordered the Berrylicious Smoothie Bowl and to my surprise, they changed the recipe ? while the full description was still on there so I was like oh lmao HAHAH but it definitely was true to its name! It was definitely a berry smoothie bowl and for once, the granola was the BIGGEST portion but the fruits were slightly skimpy. The toppings of cacao nibs and pistachio was a nice touch however and it was a good smoothie bowl! Slightly different but good.<br/ <br/ SERVICE: Really pleasant service with the loveliest waitress who greeted everyone with a smile and a happy demeanour! Though it was a cloudy morning, the crew definitely brightened it :
Absolutely LOVED Touchstone! Located in a gorgeous suburban are across from a child friendly park, the ambience is amazing. The cafe has a fancy feel with incredible food. The French toast was presented in a stunning way and was so mouthwatering. The pulled pork was flavoursome and hearty! Will DEFINITELY return.
Beautiful cafe! Service was attentive and friendly. Menu was great, lots of variety. Food was delicious and so was the coffee. Will certainly be back!

I had the egg and bacon bun along with some hash browns, and I was thoroughly impressed. The bacon was juicy, and the egg was perfectly cooked, paired with soft buns. The hash browns were also delightful and crispy. I would definitely return!
Loved the coffee. Ordered a takeaway almond Latte and I can say it was THE BEST almond latte in the in the area.
Exceptional service and food. Great value for money. Try the breakfast box for two. High quality coffee and food. Would definitely recommend this place. Take the train to Macleod. Well worth the effort.
Great little cafe in the heart of beautiful Macleod. I took my nan here for her birthday and she said she would definitely come back and highly recommends the spinach and ricotta sausage roll. I was grateful to have my tasty grilled chicken wrap amended to meet my dietary requirements. Cappuccino and latte were made perfectly by talented barista. We spent a long time catching up and felt comfortable in this local gem. The very friendly staff made this a memorable experience worth me writing a review for. After we enjoyed shopping at the nearby opp shops.

This is a lovely spot for a refreshing break. It's not noisy at all, and the food is absolutely delicious! The service was also excellent.
I frequently visit Touchstone for brunch or lunch, and I've recently tried their evening drinks and dining, which are absolutely delicious. I highly recommend going for dinner; it's a great opportunity to spend time with friends. The atmosphere isn't too loud, and the staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It's reassuring to know that all their offerings maintain a high standard.

Overall great idea for our local area. Food needed more seasoning and flavour. Door needs to remain closed as it got very cold when left open. Staff were wonderful.
