Subway
Description
Nestled in Macklin, the Subway offers a range of experiences for travelers. While some patrons rave about delightful sandwiches and attentive service, others have faced challenges, such as poorly heated meatball subs and indifferent staff interactions. The restaurant shines with its inviting atmosphere and affordability, with meals averaging between $1 and $20. Many commend the breakfast sandwiches and encourage sampling the cookies, though consistency remains an issue, particularly with baked goods. Ultimately, while the charm of a local eatery persists, careful attention to food quality and customer service could elevate the overall experience.

I appreciate that there was food in Macklin as I'm on a long roadtrip. I stopped at the subway to order a meatball sub with extra cheese, salt, pepper, that's it. Very simple sub. They put the meatballs in the oven a couple of times, so I figured it would be hot. They dumped an insane amount of sauce on the sub, which covered pretty much the entire bun, making it so I couldn't hold my sandwich without getting my hands coated in sauce. I decided not to say anything, I took the sub out to my truck to eat it. What a mess... Meatballs were cold, I took two bites and tossed the rest out as there was a lineup and the staff were flustered so I didn't want to add to that. I didn't know you could make a terrible super simple meatball sub, but I guess you can.
