Casey's - Machesney Park
Casey's
Description
Casey’s offers a variety of food options, including surprisingly good pizza and breakfast fare praised for its flavor. Many customers appreciate the convenience of gas and quick meals. However, not all experiences are positive; patrons report inconsistent service, notably during busy lunch hours when inexperienced staff struggle. Issues with food quality, such as reheated meals and lack of knowledge among employees, have led to dissatisfaction. While some enjoy the comforting breakfast pizza, others leave frustrated by the overall service. Ultimately, Casey’s stands out for its pizza and baked goods, but service improvements are needed to enhance the dining experience.

I ordered a loaded breakfast bowl, but I noticed that you replaced the gravy with queso. I won't be returning; it was nearly impossible to eat and tasted terrible.
I must say, I was really impressed with the pizza I had today. It was outstanding! The ingredients were perfectly balanced, and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you, Cassandra and Tina, and a great job to the kitchen team!
I visited this restaurant twice in an attempt to use a $25 Casey's gift card that wouldn’t swipe properly. During my first visit, the staff spent nearly 20 minutes trying to get it to work, but I ultimately had to leave for an appointment without a resolution. When I returned, the same woman who had previously assisted me recognized me and went to consult the manager about the issue. Unfortunately, she returned to inform me that they couldn’t help because the card was a couple of years old, and suggested I call the 1-800 number on the back of the card. I left feeling frustrated and decided to contact customer service. The representative informed me that the cards could actually be entered manually—a method the store had said wasn’t an option. The customer service representative sounded exasperated to hear this and said she would reach out to the store on my behalf. It was clear that the age of the gift card wasn’t the problem; rather, it was the staff's lack of knowledge and support. The manager seemed indifferent, more focused on getting me out of the store than actually solving the issue. In contrast, when I visited the Casey's in Roscoe, the manager there took the time to sort things out over the phone and spent 20 minutes helping me.
I occasionally stop by here for gas since it’s convenient. The pumps are always functional, so I can’t really say much more about them. I sometimes grab food while I’m there. They offer quite tasty donuts and rolls, along with sandwiches, salads, and pizza. I haven’t tried everything on the menu, but I’ve never had anything that I found to be terrible. The first time I heard someone mention getting pizza from Casey’s gas station, I thought it was odd—I was working in Iowa and hadn’t come across Casey’s before. To my surprise, their pizza is quite decent. It’s not the best you’ll ever have, and you can definitely find better options elsewhere, but for gas station pizza, it’s pretty good. The standout item at Casey’s, however, is their breakfast pizza—it's really quite excellent!
With no other option, I reluctantly decided to use my credit card at the pump. After pumping $48 worth of gas, I was shocked to find that Casey's had put a $75 hold on my card. This excessive hold is completely unreasonable and inconvenient. When I called to inquire about it, the staff member blamed my bank and claimed that Casey's doesn't do that, which is not accurate. This experience has definitely left a bad impression on me, and I won't be returning to Casey's for gas again. Their unwillingness to accommodate a simple request, combined with the unnecessary hold on my card, clearly shows their disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly advise others to avoid this station and seek out a more customer-friendly alternative.
