Luckily there was a free teetime for me and I was even allowed to play bit earlier to f... read more I was in Leipzig so I took the chance to play best rated course in area. Luckily there was a free teetime for me and I was even allowed to play bit earlier to finish before tournament. Course is located outside of city. I had no high expectations only wanted to play. Arrived in empty parking lot next to driving range and clubhouse. Clubhouse is quite small but having even small proshop and very friendly staff. I was nicely welcomed receive all the necessary information and let to play. Have to admit I was nicely surprised, one would say that course will be flat and boring. It was flat but not boring. Be prepared for lot of water around the course, many long shots are guarded by water hazards and I never seen that many island greens like here. Fairways are surrounded with apple trees so you can even snack there. What is really specific is that halfway house is not exactly halfway house but its close to so many holes. Fairways, teeboxes and greens are soft and juicy in this time of the year (September). Once again I realized that for German courses its specific to have long par 3 all over 150m. Greens were rolling nicely and were easy to read. To highlight few holes, I believe for many people the signature is 11th par 3 with elevated tee of length 155m, surrounded by water. For me it was probably the 13th with green next to halfway house, but there is really lot of nice par 3's. Last 4 holes are on the other side of the road and you will pass restaurant. Last hole is long par 4 with island green again overlooked from restaurant terrace. Overall price/performance ratio is perfect there and its wort to visit.
