Terrible customer service experience: I have an IKEA air purifier table “STARKVIND” Recently there was a “variable” voucher for the IKEA Switzerland 50th annive... read more Terrible customer service experience: I have an IKEA air purifier table “STARKVIND” Recently there was a “variable” voucher for the IKEA Switzerland 50th anniversary, which was only visible at the checkout. Value CHF 10 to don't know how much. Good opportunity to buy replacement filters for the air purifier... So I arrived and went to the department where the air purifiers are located. Since I didn't know exactly which filters would fit, I had an IKEA employee in the department pick out the right ones for the Starkvind table. She did this on a terminal in the department, which then spat out a barcode that I had to scan with my cell phone. So you can't just collect the two filters and pay for them, no. You can take it to the checkout, pay there, then take the receipt to the pickup counter, which will then tell you that it will take another 15 minutes until the items are ready for pickup... Okay, wait. When the filters were ready to be picked up, I immediately noticed that one seemed much thinner than I remembered. The gentleman at the pick-up counter just said that it had probably been “optimized” a bit… The two filters cost around CHF 30 together, the voucher turned out to be a CHF 10 voucher, so I still had to pay around CHF 20, ok. When we got home and tried to install it, it was immediately clear that the filters were completely wrong! After a few days we went back to IKEA and then the big thing came from customer service: I only get CHF 20 back. So my voucher was “wasted” thanks to the wrong advice. Wow! Thanks! Financially it's not a problem, but morally it's completely wrong. Even when we asked customer service, nothing could be done.
