A breath of fresh air just on the edge of the old town - we were in the bright airy upstairs room - service was friendly and efficient - all the food was great and well presented - the bill was reasonable by Lyon standards - would certainly return and will recommend to friends

Having enjoyed several high brow gourmet meals in Lyon, we wanted something simple and not too heavy, but not one of the touristy bouchons. We came across this small restaurant on the edge of the old town and popped in. Initially the waiter said they were "complet" but fortunately as we turned to go out, his colleague said there had been a cancellation, so they quickly rearranged a table. Nice local infusion aperitif. The menu choice here is simple, but excellent, modern flavours with great ingredients. I had a slow cooked egg in a veloute of white asparagus to start which was delicious. Good wine list with some nice Rhone wines reasonably priced. This is an excellent little restaurant which does a modern take on Lyonnais cuisine. A really welcome change from some of the heavier Lyonnais food, but suggest you book as it's popular!

Ignore the negative reviews. We ate a three course 32e lunch today which was absolutely delicious, accompanied by a wonderful bottle of wine. The staff are really friendly, good English is spoken, the room is nicely furnished and decorated, the flavours and aromas of the food were superb. And there was enough of it. The atmosphere is laid-back and families are welcome. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Go before it gets its Michelin star/while it's still affordable.Paul

We had dinner at Cinq Mains and it was fantastic! We took the 3-course menu and a bottle of red wine. They change their menu according to the season. The appetizer was the perfect egg, which was cooked at 65 degrees water for 45 minutes, accompanied by sautéed mushroom. I had the monk fish for the main dish and smoked pineapples with coconut cream mango ice cream. The staff was very professional, attentive, and friendly. The place is small and cozy, just the right spot for elevated casual dining. Highly recommended! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We didn’t make a reservation on Christmas Eve but we’re able to get a table as we arrived at the restaurant quite early. The service here was fantastic the person who welcomed us to the restaurant even took time out to explain the menu to us as we were not able to understand the full French menu. I’ve really enjoyed the food at this restaurant too, it’s balanced and every component compliments one another. Loved the plating too! Overall a great experience for us and highly recommended for people who are visiting Lyon!
