visited the district of Croix-Rousse and stumbled over this small café/restaurant. friendly staff, fairly cheap for lyon and quite good eating. the atmosphere was very nice, nothing like the lower areas and the old city center, they feel like in a village instead of a big city....Nice look at the rest of the city. If I ever come back, I am sure I come back! View all feedback.
What Alice Scherer doesn't like about Cafe du Gros Caillou:
I am very sorry, but if in your timetable is writen open until o'clock I don't understand why at on Saturday night you say that it is impossible to eat something. It will be nice to detail this little detail. We came from...the city center specifically to visit you resto. View all feedback.
We went to the coffee of the big rock, thinking it was a safe value. We were on the terrace and served the aperitif. So far, everything's fine. 45 minutes later, I had to run behind a server, so that he would come and take our order. After half an hour, I went to ask where our dinner was. Obviously, the person who I asked, didn't seem concerned. After she went to the kitchen, she said she didn't know. So we settled our consumption and left.At that time, we realized that our order had not yet been launched. There seems to be problems in the kitchen. So I can't even give an opinion on the kitchen, but I hope it's not like the service.
Arrived before 3pm we were able to appreciate the plates of charcuterie and cheese more than copyy and excellent. Unfortunately, our friends arrived at 1501 could not be served. Really bad.
There is a drink easily, quick service without being immediate (there is a world on the terrace, without being complete) , correct price. nice view just next to the large terrace tiles protected by parasols and practical canvases in case of storm or sun too strong. for aficionados there are even 5-6 transats! Anyway, we had a good time.
Passing through the red cross, we tested this coffee that offers a simple and typical menu with a breathtaking view of the lyon.
At the coffee of the big rock we eat very well, but we can also drink mojito virgins to hide from a summer shower. tango on the square sometimes at night to accompany everything. and a magnificent view of the lyon.
