While some diners found the new menu disappointing and lacking in variety, others praised the tasty, well-presented food. Ambiance was slightly impacted by Covid arrangements, but the historic feel of the restaurant was appreciated by many. Despite some hiccups such as missing items on the menu, overall, visitors experienced friendly and helpful staff in a charming atmosphere. The place is recommended for those who enjoy traditional dining in a beautiful environment, with promising potential for a great dining experience.
The restaurant is welcoming, with good service and excellent food. It is a lovely spot for lunch, and the prices are reasonable.
This restaurant always provides a delightful experience and has some of the best surroundings in the entire New Forest.
Additionally, the knives provided at the table did not have serrated edges, making it difficult for my husband to cut his lamb off the bone. Fortunately, I had a delicious piece of halibut that I enjoyed without any issues.
Easy to book online. The establishment is very nice especially with the water features outside. The service was outstanding and the food superb
This was one of those menus where you are almost as dissapointed about the things you were unable to choose as you were delighted by the ones that you did fair to say plenty to tempt you back. The ambience was slightly hampered by being sat in the conservatory where a cold draught and rush of noise occurred each time a new person came in. Plus I suppose the covid arrangements took the edge of the atmosphere slightly. Staff were all very courteous, pleasant and efficient.
