The food was impeccable. The service was great and a welcome from the boss was included. Top
The meat is not greasy and is really light, so I don't like greasy food, but I want to eat meat!! I highly recommend it!! It was really delicious hahaha
Lunch at Joel's is really, really good--a proper meal served by friendly and helpful staff. I've eaten here numerous times, and it is always great. The wine specials are good, and the espresso is also excellent. Highly recommended.
To be honest, this brassarie is the real decent fine dining place in Luzern, given the tourist background of this town, many other places are a bit pretentious. I just couldnt understand why this place has been so overlooked. We visited here on a Saturday when Lucide and the boat restaurant are fully booked, leaving this place only few customers. This is so unfair, and i must say this place has really good interior design, amazing food with a frequently changed weekly menu, and very warm services. Their chef is fully trustworthy. Please stop by here, if you hesitate where to go in Luzern for a good experience of fine dining evening!
Don’t judge this restaurant by its humble location. It’s a gem of French cuisine in Lucerne! I had the best lobster bisque I ever tried, and a very delicious braised oxtail in red wine sauce for mains, absolute pleasure! My partner had a great wild garlic soup and an equally great pot au feu. The house wines were obviously chosen with care, balanced and not overpowering the dishes. The interior of the restaurant is cosy and relaxed with lots of paintings on the walls, and the service is sublime. My partner and I will return.

Highly recommend Joel's brasserie in hotel Lucernerhof, Lucerne. Hospitable and warm service and delicious food. 1) Smoked salmon on the house 2) Cream of carrot and orange refreshing and appetising 3) Swiss apple cider and Lucern beer 4) Grilled apple with melt in your mouth foie...gras 5) Grilled lamb chop with red wine sauce done to melt in your mouth perfection 6) Tradition Weiner Schnitzel refined and nicely marinated 7) Flaming crepe with zesty lemon cream. Perfect end to Switzerland. Funny how we walked to 2 top rated restaurants and they were closed and this little gem was right under our nose. Pity this is not high up the list as it is a hidden secret with the locals and the older locals. reviews should be written to give it the recognition it deserves!
We were lost and searching for a prebooked hotel. We called in for advice and were given perfect guidance. We returned and had an excellent meal served by friendly staff and owners who commented that 'it was raining cats and dogs ', the food was...slightly old fashioned and the wine list had some really old vintages as well as an unusual aperitif weissflog . We were extremely pleased to have found this restaurant
The food and service were so good and welcoming, we had to go back the second night to eat there again. Monika and Anastasia waited on us and they made both evenings just a delight. I had pork the first night and monkfish the second....Both were excellent. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. Eating there was the highlight of our time in Lucerne
Very pleasant experience. I suspect the restaurant hasn’t changed a bit since the 1950s, but I enjoyed that! Very traditional menu...quality preparation and perfect portions. As a non-German speaker, I received very attentive service and kind assistance from the server interpreting the menu. The restaurant...is quiet, relaxing...perfect place to linger and contemplate/plan your next day’s activities. I would come back.
Visited on Saturday evening when whole town was crazy with Fasnacht . The menu was limited due to this I think. Very busy and our main course was forgotten about and twice we were asked what we would like for dessert before main course arrived....The food was ok first course prawns in breadcrumbs similar to M&S Nibbles but I like them so that’s ok)and main was Rosti Ham egg and cheese didn’t like my coronary arteries anyway! Restaurant appears to be attached to a hotel as do many in Lucerne. Nice enough but wouldn’t especially seek it out
