The wel... read more This is a local tavern just off the road round the Roman Walls in Lugo. It is a real local place frequented by people who obviously all know each other. The welcome is warm. But what really stands out is the food. The menu, as you would expect, is limited and is all the better for this. The specialities are pulpo (octopus), succulent and beautifully seasoned with just the right amount of paprika, a luscious potato omelette, with the egg just a bit runny, and grilled green peppers. They just cannot be bettered. They also serve ham and another cold meat a bit like brawn, but that's about it! The beer is good and cold and the wine fits the food perfectly.

I don't know if I'm going back, but no doubt, accompanying someone maybe.
