Description

At Pelican Pointe, diners can expect a blend of highs and lows in their Cajun dining experience. While some dishes, like the gator bites and shrimp and grits, shine with freshness and flavor, others fall short, such as the overcooked fried fish and chewy oysters. The atmosphere is inviting, complemented by friendly service, particularly from attentive staff who strive to enhance the dining experience. Outdoor seating with live music creates a charming setting, although minor discomforts like hard booths persist. Overall, Pelican Pointe offers delightful moments among occasional missteps, making it a worthy visit for Cajun cuisine enthusiasts.

I would have given this restaurant a 5-star rating, but some of the crab legs were quite watery, leading to mushy crab meat. On the positive side, our server, Stella, was exceptionally attentive and considerate. The potatoes and corn were delicious, and the sauce had a unique flavor that I really enjoyed. The boiled shrimp was seasoned to perfection—absolutely amazing! I did wish for some clarified butter, though. We ordered 3 pounds of crawfish, and that dish was very well received. The fries were thick and well-seasoned, and they were truly delicious! The Dr. Pepper was just okay, but the water tasted fantastic! We will definitely come back to try more items from the menu.

The oysters? Absolutely not! I had to send them back. They had great flavor, but they were incredibly chewy—almost like chewing gum—and impossible to swallow! The waiter suggested it might have been a bad batch from New York. On the other hand, the gator bites were fantastic! They were fresh, hot, bursting with flavor, and served in a generous portion. Ralph Kacoos and Razoos can’t even compare. The Ragin Cajun burger was pretty good as well!

I was recommended to this restaurant when I had a craving for some good shrimp. My Cajun partner usually doesn't eat at Cajun restaurants outside of Louisiana, but we were both pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding, the drinks were fantastic, and the food was amazing! They had live music and heated tables on the patio. We will definitely return!

The shrimp and grits at Pelican Pointe are the best I’ve ever had! Every dish was bursting with rich, delicious flavors. The bread pudding and beignets were also absolutely amazing!

I absolutely love this place. When it comes to Cajun cuisine, Pelican Pointe is undoubtedly the go-to spot. The atmosphere is stunning, and it has quickly become my favorite Cajun kitchen on this side of Texas, no contest.
