Kleines Waffelhaus - Luebeck

For some time, the small waffle house in the Fleischhauerstraße has specialized in one of the culinary signs of our Belgian neighbours, and so up to now some imitators of the waffle-snellgastronomy in the Lübeck old town have been drawn. In accordance with the culinary motto, the house is already clearly recognizable by its golden yellow color, which is also enjoyed with the waffles offered here. Outside view. On the ground floor of the historic department stores, which are typical of Lübeck, the restaurant is divided by the central entrance into two areas. In the left, next to the kitchen, there is also the counter where you can order your desired waffle variation directly. The prepared food is then taken to the guest's table in the guest room on the right side of the house, which contains a handful of seats for choice. Here, too, the historical flair has already been preserved by the integration of the massive wooden beams, while some pictures loosen the atmosphere somewhat. Inside view. The predicate small in the name of the place does not come about, but in the available space you have really created an atmosphere that is inviting to stay. The team of the operator left a positive impression on me with its quite unprecedented way: rather a little Nordic cool and less talkative than spiritual, yet friendly and attentive. The main part of the menu is, of course, the combination of the Belgian waffle with all kinds of sweet companions, whether fruity or chocolate. Since I personally am more inclined to the not so sweet taste, the fact that you also have many more hearty “potato wafer creations, was a small snack in the waffle house. From the regularly changing offer I chose the potatoes with Camembert and Cranberries during my visit in the early afternoon. Potato wafer with camembert, cranberries and salad additive. For only 5.5€, not only did the portion size convince with two usual wafer samples, but also tastefully with the hoped, not too sweet potato character, as well as a crispy outside and still juicy interior. The camembert and a cranberry jam were then available between the waffles. A classic combination where you can of course do little wrong. But I also found the small supplement, consisting of fruit and vegetables, was of course not spectacular, but quite delicious and especially suitable for the price. If you are looking for a small snack from the snack, bakery and fast food standard, I can recommend the “small waffle house” really good conscience.
