The Unicorn restaurant offers delicious meals and cozy accommodations, providing a warm and attentive experience. Despite some setbacks such as unexpected closures and mismanaged reservations, the quality of food and service shines. The quaint, clean rooms and scrumptious breakfast help create a wonderful stay. The staff, particularly Lee, go above and beyond to ensure guests are comfortable and well-fed. Excellent offerings like eggs benedict and venison come at a slightly higher cost, but the value is clear in the superb dining experience. A hidden gem in Ludlow, the Unicorn deserves more recognition and local support to thrive.

Had dinner with two friends on a Saturday night. It was quiet and we couldn’t understand why. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and cosy with a nice fire. The small team looked after us extremely well and we had a very enjoyable evening. My English friend was raving about the quality of the food, she said that it was exceptional for an English pub to serve such good food. We thought it was good value and a really nice experience. Thank you.

Although we only stayed at this restaurant without eating, we found the breakfast to be excellent. Despite being labeled as a pub, it is not open for drinks. According to the owner, the pub does not stay open in hopes of attracting customers. It is disappointing, as it could potentially be a great place to dine and stay. Upon looking into the restaurant, we noticed that only two people were eating at 7pm, and they planned to close at around 8pm after finishing their meal. There was no atmosphere as the restaurant was empty. Unfortunately, we were unable to return for a drink after being out.

Myself husband and our friends stayed last night. From the warm welcome from Lee to our goodbyes this morning we had an amazing time ! Rooms quirky spotless clean. Tea coffee milk provided. We were going to eat in town but decided the Unicorn was sooo nice we ate there. What a fabulous meal we had too ! Fresh and tasty. A perfect nights sleep followed. This morning breakfast was wonderful!! Again all fresh hot and tasty. Thank you Lee and all of your staff for a relaxing night away and your superb hospitality. We will be back !!

Although the sea bass was cooked beautifully, it was served with a store-bought Yorkshire pudding and roasted potato wedges. The carrots were undercooked and appeared to have just been picked, while the new potatoes were soggy as if reheated. When I brought these issues up with the waitress, she spoke to the chef who sent his apologies. However, there was no reduction in price or offer of a coffee. I usually do not leave poor reviews, but I feel it necessary to warn others about this disappointing experience. It's a shame, as the Unicorn restaurant was recommended by the hosts of the cottage we were staying in.
