Despite the heat, the many open windows and... read more On the hottest day of the year, we sat down for lunch at Forelles, a restaurant located in a spacious winter garden. Despite the heat, the many open windows and doors kept us cool. This was our first visit to Forelles, spurred by glowing recommendations from friends. Surprisingly, we were the only patrons for most of our meal, perhaps due to the scorching 35-degree weather. We opted for the tasting menu, which featured 8 courses, including generous canapés and petit fours. Each dish was beautifully presented and expertly prepared, with flavors that were exceptional across the board. The service, although a bit slow given the lack of other diners, was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning to Forelles in the future.

The Formica tables did not contribute to the overall look of the place. The service was extremely slow and I had to search for the waitress twice between courses. However, the food itself was excellent and we enjoyed a wonderful three-course menu. A coworker assisted me in helping my friend with Parkinson's in and out of the building, which was very helpful. Unfortunately, the dining experience was not enough to make us want to return, as the other aspects of the restaurant fell short. It is unlikely that we will be coming back.
