Our waiter had been working there for 28 years and was outstanding. We sat outside on the patio. It was nice but could use some more ambiance. I would highly recommend eating here!

The waiter was very goo... read more I enjoyed eating there 7 times during my 7 week stay in Lucca. The food was always outstanding. The service was such that I even tipped. The waiter was very good in choosing great local wines for my wine connoisseur dinner guests. Rack of lamb, steak, mushroom dish ... antipasto in general were all excellent. Prices are very reasonable and much better than eating at a place inside Lucca walls. Worth driving to if you are in Lucca area. A place that locals frequent and that is something I truly enjoy when in Europe. I miss the place and the owner and her waiter.

Was kind of nervous going to the new Lombardo........ I shouldn't have been. The food was wonderful and the service was even better. They even remembered us. Worth driving to if you are in Lucca but book, it gets full quickly. The waiter was amazing.

The waiter was very fri... read more We were a family of 9, 6 adults, a 12 year old, 4 year old and 12 month old. The service, food and restaurant itself were all excellent. The waiter was very friendly, spoke relatively good English and advised on dishes etc. We received a small glass of Prosecco to start courtesy of the restaurant. A variety of food dishes were picked by the group and no one was disappointed. My 12 year old got the authentic burgher (no roll) and the meat was to die for. I had truffle pasta to start which was delicious and the Norwegian cod. Thoroughly recommend as a restaurant to visit if you are in the area. This is outside the walls of the city.
