Gigi Trattoria Lucca

When I entered this etablissement, my soul left my body. The gnocci was so delicious, it basically melted on my tongue and the wine was extremely affordable and enjoyable. The tiramigigi……. changed my life

Excellent experience at Gigi Trattoria! Swung by on a Friday night and managed to get an outdoor table without a reservation. Very kind start to the evening meal. I was specifically looking for a homemade gnocchi and Gigi has now set the bar for my Italy trip. We started with meatballs that somehow seemed to melt in the mouth. I'd go back again for those tasty balls of meat alone. Then came the gnocchi with burrata cheese, basil and tomatoes. Unbelievable little clouds of potato. We also had the creative risotto of the day made with radish and roquefort, which was a unique taste, and required having an affinity for radish. We finished with an fantastic house-made cheese cake. The service was excellent and the ambiance of the space was delightful. Very attractive interior dining, though we did not have the pleasure on this visit. We will be back! P.S. Don't judge the food quality based on the pictures shared here since the lighting outside is rather yellow.

REVIEW BY AN AUSSIE Having been to five Tuscan towns/cities this has been the best meal yet. A great family serving great food. Simply the best home made pasta and hearty mains. Prioritise this place while in Lucca.

Lasagna has always been my favorite food. This was the best Italian lasagne I have ever had. Don’t forget to start with the amazing octopus soup.

Fabulous restaurant, amazing delicious food and service-and right outside the front door of where we were staying. It was recommended to us and was the best place that we ate at all week, and pretty inexpensive-especially for the quality.
