They are super crunchy and may even be double-fried! The atmosphere is fantastic, situated at the rear of the War Memorial Library, and the seating is very comfortable.

Laurissa and her team are a true gem for Lower Hutt, serving up a variety of delights that are so delicious they hesitate to call them 'vegan.' They’re simply amazing! The focaccia sandwiches are bursting with flavor (try the avocado sauerkraut or the not chicken kimchi), the pies are fantastic, and the roast vegetable salad with jungle curry is excellent. They also have a rotating selection of delicious donuts. The staff is great, and it’s a kid- and dog-friendly spot as well.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and the location is ideal, with beautiful gardens that provide a lovely setting for enjoying your treats. They offer a fantastic variety of vegan options, especially in their display case. The ginger slice is a standout, and don’t miss their donuts on Fridays—they are delightful! They also have an impressive selection of savory dishes. I've never been let down by the food here, and I used to come almost daily. The cafe truly values sustainability, allowing you to bring your own cups and containers, and if you need to use their takeaway containers, they are not plastic.
