Love all of their food, but I find myself always going back to the chicken salad. The baklava is usually added in to my meal, as I can't resist it. The staff are always so nice and friendly. While it is usually busy each time I visit, I don't wait too long for my food. One of my faves for sure! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 View all feedback.
What Julie doesn't like about Kilim:
This place has gone massively downhill. It used to be one of my favorites but the food is really disappointing now. No yummy Turkish bread!!! just a sad flacid bit of pita bread, lukewarm chicken and soggy salad drowned by dips. Won't be coming back in a hurry. This place is the best in Lower Hutt. The meals are excellent and reasonably priced. The service is outstanding. As a customer, I can see that this family-operated restaurant is well-managed and efficient. The establishment is always clean and consistently busy with patrons. Having traveled a lot, I’m really happy to have the opportunity to dine here. The experience is as authentic as you can get in Wellington. I recommend the chicken over the lamb, as I'm not a fan of minced lamb. I personally prefer kebabs made with lamb meat, but don’t let my preferences influence your choice!
I've been here a few times because the kebabs are fantastic. Recently, I decided to try the mixed grill, and now I'm not sure I'll be able to go back to the kebabs. They're incredible! So much deliciousness!
If you’re a meat lover, the mixed grill is a must-try! In fact, any dish you order is sure to please, as the portions are generous and the flavors are fantastic! We were fortunate to snag a table by walking in off the street, but it's advisable to make a reservation to avoid any potential disappointments.
First visit here was for a birthday meal, service was good no complaints, meal was great, piping hot, full of flavours, generous portions, ambience relaxed and pleasant will dine here again for sure.
Kilim never fails to disappoint. Delicious, huge mains worth their price (I usually go for the turkish chicken burger which is amazing, always) and the desserts are just as good! I thoroughly recommend the tiramisu.
