I not only learned through words and ideas, but also through observing the actions and ways of being of the people there. Meals at the restaurant are communal activities for both occupants and guests. The food, which varies based on the seasons and the individuals training at the time, is consistently amazing. They use high-quality ingredients, primarily whole foods, and all meals are prepared with mindfulness and love.
I spent two months at this restaurant, then another three months at its sister school Oak before committing to a residency program at both establishments. During my time there, I learned how to engage in the present moment and interact with others and the world around me with greater clarity, empathy, and compassion. I realized that this community values personal growth, trustworthiness, and living ethically with integrity. The teachings were not just conveyed through words and ideas, but also through actions and the way individuals interacted with each other and faced challenges together. Meals were communal events for both residents and guests, and although the menu varied depending on the season and training schedule, the food was consistently amazing. The chefs utilized high-quality ingredients, primarily whole foods, and cooked each meal with mindfulness and love.
I worked as an apprentice at this restaurant for 2 months, followed by another 3 months at nurse school OAK, before I decided to join a residency program at both places. During my time there, I learned the importance of engaging in real, current experiences and interacting with others with courage, clarity, and care. This community values compassion, personal growth, trustworthiness, and ethical living. The teachings were not just in words, but also in actions, encouraging us to face challenges with integrity. Meals served at the restaurant are communal events for residents and guests, prepared with high-quality ingredients, mainly whole foods, and cooked with mindfulness and love. The dining experience may vary based on seasonal offerings, but overall, it is amazing.
