Reviews - Pineview

Fast Food, Coffee, Sandwiches

Reviews summary

Tucked in a small-town strip, this cozy, booth-lined diner serves dependable homestyle fare — standout Eggs Benedict, classic clubs and house-made pies — drawing locals and day-trippers alike. Food quality varies by dish and day: pies and breakfast win widespread praise, while poutine and coffee divide opinion. Service fluctuates between warm and brusque, and the compact space can mean limited seating and pricing that some find steep. Best for relaxed breakfasts, hearty lunches and a slice of nostalgia.

What Claude Le gallic dislikes about Pineview:

Arrived at the restaurant at 11:22, only a couple in the restaurant who had already been served. I got up to go get the menu at the counter. The waitress came to us and cleaned the table top at 11:28. We didn't place our order (lunch), she asked the cook, and the cook refused because lunch ends at 11:30. Instead of leaving we should have ordered a club. Beacon toast tomato. It looks like the same ingredients as lunch... View all feedback.

As an anglophone tourist in the small towns of northern and eastern Quebec I’d fully expect people to speak French only, but not 45 minutes from Parliament Hill. I got the feeling our waitress absolutely was bilingual and simply preferred to let us struggle with French. Rude. Never again. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast

This restaurant is family-owned and operated, and the staff is friendly and entertaining with plenty of stories to share. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious. Just a heads up: if you need to use the restroom, it's for customers only. So, be prepared to indulge in some of their delightful homemade pastries while you're there!

If you're coming from cottage country or planning a day trip from the city, this is a fantastic place for classic diner food. Don't miss out on trying one of the many pies made on the premises; the coconut cream pie, in particular, was especially delicious.
