what a Jewel! this is one of the best restaurants I found in albuquerque. we sat in an enchanting next-view room that you can use the bar area, but the main dining room is also beautiful. the whole ambiente is made with care and love to detail, and above all it tastes of an authenticity, from which most coastal restaurants can only dream and eat. I had the best enchiladas of my life, a special called the enchiladas d... View all feedback.
What Marco Schaefer doesn't like about El Brunos Y Cantina:
poor service. had to sit quite awhile, then no waiter. at last, you had to ask for water at the table. then waited for the waitress to finally take our order. people who came after us were waiting for us. the workers seemed very unorganized and involuntary to serve our table. there was enough personal to serve everyone. the young lady who finally waited for our table was quite apologetic and then offered a good servi... We always order the Tequila Lime Chicken with the Cordova at this restaurant.
Regrettably, we just experienced the worst dining experience ever! We had a 5:30 reservation to "beat the Friday rush". We placed our drink and food orders at 5:45, but by 7:15 we still had not received our food. As we were leaving, we were informed that our food was ready. We sat back down to eat, but two people in our group still hadn't received their orders. The food was tasty, but it shouldn't take 90 minutes to prepare New Mexican cuisine in a restaurant. This was our final meal in New Mexico before moving out of state. Unfortunately, we will not be dining at el Bruno when we return to visit friends. So disappointing.
We have dined at El Bruno’s 3-4 times. While the food is decent, the service has progressively gotten worse with each visit. The wait staff is disorganized and scatterbrained. During our most recent visit, we arrived at 5:30, placed our order at 5:45, and by 7:15 we had to get up to leave because our food still hadn't arrived. The staff begged us to stay, but when our food finally came out at 7:20, it was cold and incorrect. The manager offered to discount our bill by 50%, but couldn't even get the math right. We had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get our bills sorted, and we were automatically charged a tip for the terrible service and overall bad experience. Save yourself the trouble and choose one of the many other Mexican restaurants in town instead of El Bruno’s.
Great food in a laid back atmosphere. The sopapilla and pollo con pinon are especially good.
Great tasting food, the rice was creamy and seasoned perfectly
