They have birria tacos, asada fries , burgers, street tacos and more. Unfortunately, fountain drinks were out of order. The food was good, salsas were bomb. Family friendly place, lots of seating. View all feedback.
What Joanne Jantz doesn't like about Don Choche Tacos Y Cerveza:
My son and I went there for my birthday, he raved about how hot the chili was how awesome the food was. But when we went he was disappointed and so was I the red chili tasted more like it was a powder instead of from the pods. When I asked them to bring me some red chili because my enchiladas hardly had any sauce the chili they brought out was cold. The service was great but just wanted to be honest with you, would I... Visit Date: 08/12/23THE GOOD:Loved the atmosphere! And they def had the best old school Mexican jams playing! It felt like there was a señora cleaning on a Saturday morning lolThe decor was typical of any Mexican restaurant, cute patio! As for the food, I really enjoyed their carnitas tacos! Not too greasy, simple with cebolla y cilantro. They also had a great selection at their self serve salsa bar.THE REST:My friend and I liked everything for the most part but were surprised at some of their menu items. There wasn’t any salsa verde options for their enchiladas, just NM Green Chile. Had hoped for a Mexican sauce (Mole, guajillo, tomatillo, árbol) in any of their dishes but they only offer sauces made with New Mexico red or green chile.Their tacos de chicharrón were super spicy, which I love, but they came with lettuce, tomato and bell peppers…which is super odd. I’ve never been served lettuce and tomato or bell peppers on any chicharrón dish. But a plus side: they did offer a Mexican style salsa verde option for the chicharrones, not just their New Mexico green chile chicharrones. My friend’s tacos de carnitas had yellow cheese on them, again, very strange for an authentic Mexican street taco and not consistent with how they served me my carnitas tacos ?Overall, I’d come back to try other tacos and when I’m in the mood for New Mexico style enchiladas, the ones here sound good!THINGS TO NOTE: there is no table side service. You order at the counter, you get a number, you go pick a table and your food is brought out to you. Almost everything here is self serv. They only offer beer, wine and wine based margaritas, no liquor.I’d consider this 50/50 Mexican and New Mexican Cuisine.
So good! Just everything about it! All the tacos. All the salsas.
Food was good but service was horrible. When ordering we asked about an item on the menu, the young female cashier didn't know what was in the dish and just stared at me when I asked if she could find out. So we decided to order chicken enchiladas instead. When we got our food, there was no chicken in the enchiladas, only cheese. When I asked about the enchiladas not having any chicken she said she would send someone over to our table to fix it, no one came over. I was told my drinks would be brought to the table, I think they forgot, had to go back and stand in line for awhile to get the drinks and the cashier walked right by me, wouldn't make eye contact, so I had to wait for another employee to show up to get our drinks. Food was tasty but the order was incorrect. No one seemed to be in any hurry to provide customer service or fix the issue. Unfortunately when you pay (on their ipad system) before you sit down to eat it asks if you want to add a tip, which I did but won't do ever again after having hortible service and won't eat there again. Won't tip in advance at any restaurant anymore before seeing what kind of service you're going to recieve.

Man this place was amazing. I was skeptical I thought it was going to be mediocre. Well let me tell you, this place is amazing! A definite regular for me now. I have been craving a real authentic torta I got one! I’m pretty sure the bread is homemade because it tasted that good! The meat was tender flavorful. The garnish was crisp fresh. The guacamole was vibrant tasteful. Every element of the torta was delicious. The Limonada con piña the margarita was also very refreshing delicious! The salsa bar, don’t even get me started on that. You think they would all taste the same but they don’t. So please go get all the salsas ask for more chips. The only down size is the amount of chips they give you. Just ask for more!Parking: There is two entrances on either side of the restaurant to get access to the parking lot in the back. Both entries are one ways so just pay attention.
