Try their Phad Thai bowl, delicious! (they call it something else on the menu, it is the only Asian style tariff)

Beachfront. About a 2 mile walk from La Manz or drive into Boca de Iguana. Great service, clean food and bathrooms! Larger menu at lunchtime.

We stayed at Hotel Chantli Mare for 8 years on Christmas holidays. We rarely leave the property because food is not only the best for, but consistent. The meals prepared by Erick and the famous Greg Couillard are ridiculously good. The staff is attentive and prompt...also while eating on the beautiful wild beach. Try the shrimps empanadas or the Pasta Diablo or the Vietnamese craft dinner or the... Yes, it's all good!

Chanterie Mare is located on a beautiful beach and has great food. Every time we were so satisfied with the food and service. It's an amazing place in the middle of nowhere! I always try to eat at least once every trip to Mexico.

Each year we are in Barra we make the trek out to Chantli Mare for lunch and a day at the beach as it is located on a beautiful stretch of a fantastic walking beach. This trip I have to say was a bit disappointing. It was very busy and they didn 't have near enough staff on which resulted in sub-par food and drinks. The margaritas were very, very sour (I had to go up and get more jarabe and normally I like a tart margarita) and it was not well blended. The food that came out was ok . I ordered the english muffin dish (I can 't remember the name) which my friend (who goes to this restaurant several times a year) recommended. Both of us were very disappointed in the dish. It is comprised of an english muffin, ham, cheese and caramelized onions which really makes the dish. The muffin was dry with a slab of ham and pretty much raw onions. There were 6 of us there for lunch and we all felt the meals were ok but nothing exceptional. Given the pricier menu, it was a bit disappointing. Also note that they now add 15% to the bill as a gratuity which I have absolutely no problem with as that is what we would normally tip however, it is not standard practice to have it on the bill in Mexico so just be aware so you know how much you are tipping. For us, it just wasn 't worth the drive on this particular trip. Perhaps it can be chalked up to being busy and short staffed.
