Homey, healthy tasting of Korean soups. This is a cute mother and pop shop with very modest decor. Service was a little funny as it probably wasn't too many people in the store. For example, we have come out our waters and side dishes with our food, which was a bit waiting. This side by the way, the soups were amazing, the depth in the broth had so many dimensions. Trust me, this is so much more than boiled water and a few msg sat in a bowl. I feel like I just left a friend's house, fed and satisfied.
We came here to Friday dinner, the parking lot was almost impossible in this area on Friday night, but that didn't stop us from getting our comfortable Korean dinner. We ordered both Kimchi Jigage, it comes with soft tofu and some beef (Make sure to check with the server if you are a vegetarian or vegan) the menu is not super clear. Kimchi jigae was 5/5 DELICIOUS, which is fermented kimchi to the choice. By fa my favorite Kimchi jigae in the area, the service is quite slow and rough, it took a while to bring us Banchan and do our check. everything is pretty slow, but the food is good so it's up? I also love that they give us purple rice! This is my gothic place if I'm not in a hurry. I love the taste you're looking for! their banana are also delicious, and the potato salad and steamed eggs are so delicious
Ambiance: the establishment extended the dining room by combing another room next to its original location Service: understaffed and very slow, asked for hot tea but served cold, only one person serve the entire place, from ordering, bringing food to cleaning the tableFood: ordinary quality, I used to love this place for comfort food and especially their signature galbi jjim, but the recent visit was a big disappointment Banchan limited choices, potatoes salad and burdock slices were good Galbi Tang poor quality, the beef wasn't not stewed long enough, not cutting well and overly chewy meat, bold msg and salty flavors Pork Bulgugi stinky smell, so so taste Price: downhill quality, small portions and overpriced, expect about $35+ per person
?? SOUTH KOREA via Eat the World Los Angeles) Look towards the tops of each column for what could be defined as the quintessential dishes at the restaurant, and near the end in the fish section you will find the godeungeo jorim 고등어조림 $29.99) at the top. This is the dish that brings back Hairtail Alley despite using a different fish, or favorites like Honam Sikdang in Seoul, which offer nothing but godeungeo jorim, long simmered or braised mackerel with kimchi and white radish.
