This is a very kind place. I did some shopping at the market and decided to get a vegan plate afterward. It's very inexpensive for what you get, a great deal, and the food was all tasty. The extra special thing that happened was when a houseless person came in while I was eating and told one of the people working here that he had two dollars and change, and asked if that was enough to buy a plate. The guy working was... View all feedback.
What C M C doesn't like about India Sweets & Spices:
I love that this place is still there after all these years but the food seems to have gone down in quality. Samosa was tepid. One of the veggie selection in the combo plate was also not very hot and bland. Its great value for money just wish the food was more flavorful and hot! Convenient and fast and good vibes. I love this place, they have great prices, the food is really good, and there is also a large market where you can buy beans in bulk and very good spices.
Amazing options for cooking vegan at home. Bulk options as well as spices and spices that are hard to find other places. The restaurant Essen is also super good!
Mostly vegan. Get a Mango Lassy. So frikin delicious
Thumbs to India candy and spices on Los Feliz (there are several different sites, apparently owned or otherwise managed). I am a strict vegan and they are able to speed up my diet. They have a considerable milk, but otherwise they are 100% vegetarian. You are a counter-service ice cream shop...no table service... You order at the counter after studying the different food options of the day that are prefabricated by a display case window. ASK, if they have milk in their foods... some do not do it and make sure you identify ghee (clarified butter) in your objection. If I use their Masala Dosa (my favorite food there), I specifically ask that they use oil and not ghee. The owner is such an incredibly friendly guy that he is part of the joy of eating there. He's always happy and welcomes me every visit. The atmosphere is somewhat infertile and cold, but I love the Bollywood videos they play there on a TV. There is a large Indian food market appropriate... this is where I have my Vicco toothpaste (the only toothpaste I found that does not contain glycerol that blocks the cheap recalculation of tooth enamel from our saliva), my Indian spices, and all kinds of unique rice and amazing food ingredients that I do not yet know how to cook.
The place reminds me of India the food is spicy and there is always music on (oh well, not live music). It is not a vegan restaurant but they seem to understand the idea and always have vegan options. Of course, there is a possibility of cross contamination, but the food is good, the service is fast.
