I tried the vegan black and white donut, churro, and vanilla latte. The black and white was my favorite—it's incredibly moist. I would describe the donuts I had as more like overly moist pancakes shaped like donuts, but they were still tasty! The coffee here is also really strong. What User doesn't like about Fonuts:
It's a bit tricky to evaluate, as there are so many fantastic vegan donut shops out there, and they all deserve recognition. It feels a bit unfair to be overly critical. This may just be a matter of personal taste, but I found the donuts to be rather unique and somewhat overpriced. On the bright side, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the selection was li... View all feedback.
Parking isn’t fun, but after you get over that the rest is amazing. Clean, meticulous store! And the donuts are delish. If you haven’t had a doughnut because you are vegan or gluten-free, this will give you all the feels. Beware that half of their donuts are not vegan but they are all gluten-free. They are nicely divided in sections so it’s easier to choose. Don’t miss their vegan Nutella – best I have ever had! Our favorite donut was the vegan gluten-free lemon (like Mrs. Grace lemon cake or lemon Bundt cake). I love that they have minis for portion control-if you can control yourself. In addition to vegan/non-vegan gluten free dry kits you can take home, they have kombucha, syrup, and more for sale. They sell the mix with or without the donut moulds so you can make some of the flavors from home. For vegan the only option was churro, but I wish they had lemon. We choose fonuts whenever my husband and I crave something sweet but not too heavy. Unlike traditional yeast deep fried doughnuts, their doughnuts are cake doughnuts but not too dense because they are baked and gluten free. I wonder if they use tofu as one of their ingredients. It's satisfying and healthier snacks on the go. I wish they had more vegan options, though.
I gave this place two tries and finally accepted that I don't like these donuts. Well, they're shaped like donuts, but I guess they're not really donuts. I should've known from the name. It's more like a gluten-free cake...sandy texture and sugary flavor. Just not what I was looking for, unfortunately. Updated from previous review on 2018-03-08
I ordered a half dozen. When I walked in everything is really clean and one case is vegan. I actually made the mistake of thinking everything was vegan here so I was a little disappointed at that but I tried every flavor that was available that day. My absolute favorite was the vanilla latte. If you try one, try that one! The consistency of the donuts is really interesting. It's like a soft moist cake depending on the flavor it can be softer or moister? Haha it's like a cake donut that's holding in all its flavor without being soggy. Some of the flavors didn't blow my mind. I liked the subtle raspberry icing and the chocolate icing and they don't use too much. It's relatively a guilt free experience. The banana flavor was the biggest let down for me! Even though it tasted exactly like banana bread, I wanted a vegan banana donut for $18 per half dozen each not banana bread haha. I actually ended up taking it home and cutting up the flavors I didn't love as much to put in the freezer for half a day and they tasted amazing that way!! These guys should really think about redisgning themselves as avegan cake ball shop and releasing stronger flavors.
GREAT donuts!! I had both, the vanilla and chocolate donut and both were 10/10 : usually when I eat donuts I don't feel my best after, though these didn't cause that effect! thank you to steaming) would very much recommend
