You're here for the drinks and the atmosphere. Staff is very helpful. All tables were booked at 5:30 (probably for the 6pm dinner rush) but they sat us at the bar. HAppy hour is worth it. View all feedback.
What Michael Mandeville doesn't like about El Carmen:
I’m really struggling to leave a positive review because I wanted to pour out a drink in honor of my friends who aren’t here with me today. The host/busboy seemed quite put off by this, which was disappointing. I just want to celebrate my friends who have passed away because they deserved better. They may not be here, but I want to honor them in the way my culture practices. It’s unfortunate, but I hope he doesn’t ha... View all feedback.
The small plate enchiladas 3 out of 10. The margaritas 6 out of 10. The salsa is absolutely horrible. The person who I assume is the owner was a bit rude. If I ask you a question don’t look at my friend while answering as if you can’t or don’t want to talk to me. $37 gratuity added to a two person bill a little over $200. Not
Always fun, small but tasty menu. Best selection of fine (anejo, gold) tequilas! If you want to eat make a reservation. Parking: Valet Kid-friendliness: Not for children. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
The chips and guacamole are delicious. Also definitely get the Alex OG cocktail. And the mushroom taco is super good. Pollo taco good, too.
Was jonesing for quality Mexican food and we got in right before happy hour ended so we got to dive in with a deal on street tacos, ceviche and chips with guac! Did not disappoint. But the ensalada with carnitas was the best I've had in a long while. Great vibing place, not a lot of tables, and a great selection of 300+tequila and mezcal. Loved the dark mood inside and the fun chupacabra artwork on the walls. Will def go back!
Great little discovery here in West LA. Great tequila cocktails. The bartender was very knowledgeable and attentive.
