Feedback
"Could have been better" certainly sums up this restaurant well. The food quality is comparable to their other LA locations, but the execution at Echo Park was disappointing. I nearly choked on a bone in the Fish Burrito, which was quite alarming. Additionally, the new pricing was even harder to digest than the fish bones. Overall, both the service and the kitchen's execution left much to be desired. There was a sense of disappointment that couldn't be overlooked. Despite this, Senor Fish remains a decent choice for affordable seafood options.
We decided to visit the restaurant because we were in the mood for seafood. The atmosphere was pleasant, and we received a warm welcome right away. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any mojarra frita (fried fish) available. We inquired about other options, but they were also unavailable. In the end, we ordered tacos, and my husband tried a burrito. The food was good, but it wasn't anything exceptional. Considering they have "fish" in their name and didn’t have any available was a bit disappointing. We did go during lunchtime, so they might not have been fully stocked yet. I might give it another try, hoping this was just a one-off situation.
I visited this restaurant with my family and fiancé, and I'm so glad my aunt chose it for dinner. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was pleasantly quiet and relaxing for a Tuesday evening. I opted for their taco special, which includes two tacos with a choice of two sides and a medium drink. I chose the Al Pastor, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and tender. My fiancé had the seafood-loaded fries, which were just as tasty as they looked. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were just right for the price. The service was wonderful; the staff was friendly, welcoming, and patient. Unfortunately, I live an hour away, but I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area again!
The food and service were outstanding, but the decor left much to be desired. The atmosphere was quite dark and gloomy, with the entire space painted black, creating a club-like vibe that felt devoid of any entertainment. The lighting was limited, relying solely on a few table lamps for illumination. Additionally, the windows were covered in graffiti, some of which had been partially cleaned, contributing to an uneasy ambiance. There was also an odd smell lingering in the air. Although the venue is spacious, it felt almost empty during dinner, which was disheartening to witness.
I’m sorry, but my experience at Señor Fish was disappointing. The ambiance was dark and gloomy, lacking any atmosphere. They were out of shrimp, and the octopus had a rubbery texture. It took far too long for just two dishes to arrive. Unless you’re just looking for a place to drink beer and aren’t concerned about the food quality because you’ve had too much to drink, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
