Visitors with tickets to visit K2 Flore submarine and the K3 Keroman submarine base will feel their time was well spent. With no tickets to see these 2 major sights, visitors will be limited in what they can see, IMO. The ticket office in the Cite de la Voile Eric Tabarly building opens only at 2pm in October. We didn't explore the viewing tower opposite this ticket office due to the wet weather nor look at the boats in the harbor, but that might be a free thing to do on a clear day. In October, midweek, on a rainy day just 2 restaurants were open the creperie and the bar; the other eateries were closed, probably for the season. Crepes were around 5E; add 1 E for additional toppings; choose from sweet or savory crepes; also served salads. Inside the creperie the atmosphere is rustic; the outdoor patio would be my choice on a sunny day. Parking appears to be free especially around the ticket office and the 2 open restaurants. There is no taxi rank here and one needs to place a call for a taxi or make pre arrangements with the taxi that dropped one off. Bus service is not available to this attraction. Staff on site speak English so asking for directions is not a problem. Public washrooms are limited to those in buildings. With our tickets to the 2 main attractions at La Base, even on a very wet day in October, an outing here can be enjoyable/worth the time. We were day visitors from a cruise ship docked in the industrial harbor of LOrient.
Food was good (plates to share for 2/3 or 5/6 with nice diversity of cheese and cold cuts large salads). Service OK, but lots of broken dishes during our lunch !
