Union Town Provisions - Lorain
Union Town Provisions
Description
An inventive downtown bistro earns praise for bold, cosmopolitan dishes, generous portions and standout cocktails, with live jazz and outdoor seating creating a lively atmosphere. Experiences vary: many diners applaud attentive managers and specials like steak night, while others report slow service, buffet shortages and inconsistent seasoning or doneness — even food-safety worries. Wheelchair accessible and popular for brunch, dates and pre-theater meals, the restaurant shows culinary ambition but would benefit from steadier staffing and tighter quality control.

I hope they’ve finally removed the non-functioning freezer in the kitchen, which had been filled with rotting food for the entire time I worked there. The staff was troubled, and getting your paycheck meant constantly tracking down the owner, who has just been released from jail—just Google it for the details! The only positive aspect was the presence of a dedicated server named Lexy. Overall, it was the dirtiest kitchen I’ve ever experienced. Rating for food: 1 star.
Sunday afternoon brunch with the family. They are still working out their menu so that was a little confusing but when it did come out we loved all our meals. We got the avocado burger, BLAT, sausage omelette, blueberry waffle, and fries. No issue with any of it. We got fresh squeezed orange juice but not sure if it was fresh squeezed. Service was good, kind and attentive Food: 5
No salads, bowl meals have a uniform taste, meat dishes were cooked very well. Short menu, vegetarian options are limited. Drinks are very good. Decor is modern rustic, seats are hard, servers are friendly. Finer points of service missed like clearing plates, but our server was new. Not overly pricey Kid-friendliness: No Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs Service: Dine in
