It all became a bit frustrating but thankfully an English speaking lady on a table next to us helped interpret what we wanted and when it finally arrived after an extended wait we enjoyed our meal. The chicken in tarragon sauce was splendid. The kids enjoyed their plat du jour of chilli con carne too.

We ate here in the evening, choose the plat du jour. it was honestly the best meal I had ate in a time. it consisted of a deer (start of the spa gel, a main cou... read more We ate here in the evening, choose the plat du jour. it was honestly the best meal I had ate in a time. it consisted of a deer (start of the spa gel, a main course with pork and tasty foods, and an excellent desert of strawberry clairs. before sitting we enjoyed drinks and some appetizers (as we call them in the usa. the owners were friendly and understanding for our cultural alienity, and they speak good English. I highly recommend this place. it is a very straight Roman road west of ruffec.
