Longbeach Cafe - Longboat Key
Longbeach Cafe
Description
Tucked behind Whitney Beach Plaza, this small riverfront diner charms with a shaded patio, homemade biscuits, attentive servers and reliable coffee. Classic breakfasts and sandwiches arrive quickly; vegetarian options and a lively hot-sauce selection add variety. Loyal locals prize its cozy booths and art-filled walls, though inconsistent food quality, occasional lapses in cleanliness and rising prices have left some disappointed. A pleasant spot for casual morning meals and anniversary breakfasts, it risks becoming a missed opportunity without updates and tighter kitchen standards.

Perfect breakfast place. My pancakes, eggs, bacon and coffee were delicious. The service is lovely (and very quick too!
Charming little diner with excellent outdoor seating. The patio was quite pleasant, even at noon in the summer. Unfortunately, my salad contained wilted and rotten lettuce, and it was evident that it had been hastily taken from a bag and tossed onto the plate with minimal attention. Given the price, I was disappointed by this oversight.
The experience was enjoyable, but a bit overpriced. Everything is made to order, which is a plus. However, considering the prices, the coffee could have been stronger, and the portion sizes were just average.
Best Biscuits and Gravy other than homemade. I rarely eat B&G out because of the inconsistency. I also recommend eating outside overlooking the water. I highly recommend this place unless it’s during a time that I want to eat there. If it’s a full house be sure to save me a seat.
