What Pirate King doesn't like about Wood Salt Tavern:
Very crowded dining atmosphere , food was moderate lacked a lot of flavor/seasoning . Nothing that stood out made me want to come back. Smelled like cigarettes the whole time I was here . View all feedback.
Second trip here, first one was for brunch which was great see the former review. This time came back for happy hour and dinner. 20% off appetizers, well drinks, wine and beer 4 to 6:30pm. The service was great and I will quote them here on this you really can 't go wrong with anything on the menu . Fried Squash Blossoms we started with and they were delectable quoting my dining companions here. I had the whole Branzino with olive tapenade and it was like eating butter. Very light and crispy skin and delicious. Tried two desserts the double chocolate cake and the pistachio cheesecake. The desserts are made in house as are the pastas and I found the cheesecake was my favorite. Can 't wait to come back and try another dish.
First time here and I loved it. I admit I was a bit nervous about it. It says Italian Mediterranean but had an urban farmhouse vibe so I didn't know what to expect. But they brought it. Our server, Bart, was great and super chill, making good recommendations. We had the Barrel Aged Manhattan which was good but burned a hole in my chest since I'm not used to rye. My pineapple basil lemon drop drink was super delicious though and had a sugar rim. The shrimp in broth appetizer and beet salad (needs more burrata) were delicious definitely dip the grilled bread in the shrimp broth! The tagliatelli and gnocci were amazing and fresh. We ended with the tiramisu which was very light and moist and whippy (I strongly dislike the cakey kind). Not a fan of all that shaved white chocolate on top but was still tasty. Dark shavings would have been waaaay better. Anyway highly recommend this spot.
I had been wanting to try this place for sometime now and given my sons school was having a fundraiser what a better reason to finally make it happen.Such a vibey atmosphere with great music playing. Our waiter Bart was great! He truly was so helpful in deciding what dishes we were between. I honestly feel there is no wrong choice, we were blown away with everything. You can taste the love and the quality. Our order:Food-Chicken parmigiana Spaghetti carbonaraKids grilled chicken with friesDrinks-Strawberry peach margarita with chipotle salt rimMixed Berry beet French 75
Celebrated a Birthday here this evening. I recommend a reservation as it was very busy by 6.30pm. The service was great and friendly. We started with Cocktails. Then we had the Beef Tartare, Shrimp and Grilled carrots for Appetizers. For Entrees we had a mix of Pastas , Ribeye Steak and Aged Burger. The Carbonara was lacking in bacon but everything else was delicious.Ended with Tiramisu, Double Chocolate Cake, Sorbet and Espresso. Service was great all the way through Bottles of water are on the table and refilled when empty.Chairs are uncomfortable after a while, hard wood. Love the wallpaper in the bathroom.Great food highly recommend you try it
