This restaurant is like a hidden gem. We had the pleasure to eat on Saturday after a drink or a treat in this restaurant. We called ahead to see if they could take a party of ten at 8:20. They're closing at 9:00. They were gracious enough to wait for us and we stayed until 10:00. We were treated with great service, excellent bread, exceptional food and a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. I tried the lasagna, but the pasta was extremely mushy. The most dominant flavor in the entire dish was an overwhelming amount of oil that seemed to be about a pint’s worth, which was just sitting around the food. Unfortunately, it was quite unappealing.
I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. It has a lovely interior and is conveniently located near my home, but after dining here at least five times, I can't bring myself to return. The portion sizes are small to medium, and the recipes just don’t hit the mark—everything lacks flavor. Their Gorgonzola gnocchi is only mildly flavorful, and the carbonara is the worst I've ever tasted. I feel bad writing this review since the staff is always friendly, but honesty is important.
The older lady who served us appeared irritated that we had come in for dinner, even though the restaurant was completely empty. The seating was quite limited, and we found ourselves waiting a long time for service. I ordered the gnocchi, but the food was pretty bland—nothing remarkable, especially considering the price.
