We were hungry and the restaurants on the main... read more It has been a bit since we have visited Longbeach. Of course we go down on Labor Day weekend with everyone else. We were hungry and the restaurants on the main drag either couldn't sit our size group or the wait was long. Found the Chowder Shop one block off on Google Maps and 5 minutes later we were at our table. The waitress was very friendly, though a small seating area, it was a good environment. The food was delicious and well priced. BEST sweet potato fries EVER!!! Found a new spot when we venture that way.

Really have to hunt for clam in the clam chowder. It was extremely thick with a very few potato pieces and fewer clam pieces. No flavor except salt and pepper.... read more Really have to hunt for clam in the clam chowder. It was extremely thick with a very few potato pieces and fewer clam pieces. No flavor except salt and pepper. Garlic bread had no discernible garlic flavor, very little butter.
